Just wanted to post about the music festival that went on in Des Moines this weekend. I myself had a very good time and it seemed like it went over really well. There was a lot of awesome bands to see, the vast majority of them playing on free stages even, and there was a really great turnout. It is so about time that des moines did something like this and i am so glad that it went well, because this means that hopefully it will be something that goes on every year, and maybe this will encourage more acts to come through here. They had quite a few local acts as well as bigger ones, such as the Flaming Lips, which headlined last night and they were amazing. I got to hear and sort of kind of see Frank Black today. I didn't buy a ticket for the main stage today but i got to watch part of it through a crack in the fence :) The Roots headlined tonight and we actually got to catch the end up it as security didn't care too much at that point, and they were pretty sweet, and it all ended with some pretty decent fireworks. Yay for cool stuff happening in the town i live in!

It did rock sooo much!! Im so sad its over, my body sorta hurts a bit, its like getting back from camping or something, but I danced and couldn't stop pretty much!! The types of music were just so vast, from punky, jammy, indie, folk, rockin...god it was good!! YAY DESMOINES!! Only one arrest that I am aware of, and that we witnessed too!
yea for des moines playing groovy music and fun times! wish i could have been there!
